Pre-Pregnancy Counseling
Thoughtful planning is essential. Preconception care and counseling can identify women who may benefit from early interventions and help reduce the risk of birth defects. Ensuring optimal health and nutrition before pregnancy is especially important because organ development begins just 17 days after fertilization.

Assessment of Your Physical and Reproductive Health
Your physician will review your nutritional status, medical history, and reproductive background, including any previous pregnancies or how long you have been trying to conceive. Identifying and treating infections, medical conditions, or structural uterine concerns early can significantly reduce the risk of recurrent pregnancy loss.

Infectious Disease Screening
Before pregnancy, it is essential to check your immunity to Rubella. If you are not immune, a vaccination is recommended, followed by a waiting period of at least one month before trying to conceive. Depending on your medical profile, additional evaluations may include screening for Toxoplasma, Cytomegalovirus (CMV), HPV, HIV, and Hepatitis B.

Family History and Genetic Screening
If your family has a history of hereditary disorders or if your ethnicity places you at higher risk for certain conditions, CosmoMed provides carrier screening for genetic diseases. Identifying carrier status early—before pregnancy—allows couples to understand their risks clearly and make informed reproductive decisions without the added emotional pressure of an ongoing pregnancy.
