Varicocele Treatment
Varicoceles occur when the valves in the testicular veins do not function properly, causing blood to pool and the veins within the scrotum—the loose skin sac that holds the testicles—to enlarge. This pooling disrupts normal blood circulation in the testes, alters temperature regulation, and affects the delicate testicular microenvironment.

Varicocelectomy
A Varicocelectomy is a minimally invasive microsurgical procedure in which enlarged veins are carefully tied off while preserving the normal blood vessels.
Benefits of Varicocelectomy:
- Provides the highest chance of repairing a varicocele and is the most commonly performed surgery for male infertility.
- Aims to relieve pain (if present) and improve pregnancy rates in couples affected by male factor infertility associated with varicoceles.
- Improves semen parameters in 60–80% of men.
- Allows for spontaneous pregnancy in approximately 40% of cases following a successful procedure.
- Prevents further damage to testicular hormone function and can enhance Leydig cell function in many men, supporting overall reproductive health.
