Low Ovarian Reserve
Ovarian reserve refers to your ovaries’ ability to produce healthy eggs that can be fertilized and lead to pregnancy. This reserve naturally declines with age, especially after 35. Although the ovaries continue to release eggs until menopause (typically around age 50–51), egg quality decreases over time. Eggs produced in a woman’s 20s and early 30s generally have a higher chance of resulting in pregnancy compared to those produced later. If you are considering preserving your fertility, egg freezing may be an option.

Causes of Diminished Ovarian Reserve
Genetic or Autoimmune Factors:
Some women naturally experience a decline in ovarian reserve at a younger age. In other cases, the immune system may mistakenly attack ovarian tissue, damaging the follicles that contain eggs.
Toxins:
Treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation can affect ovarian cells and harm their genetic material.
Lifestyle Factors:
Smoking and other unhealthy habits can significantly impact ovarian health and accelerate the decline of ovarian reserve.
