Women’s Health Check-Up
Seeing your gynecologist for an annual visit is an essential part of maintaining your overall health. It’s a great opportunity to address any concerns, ask questions, and ensure everything is on track. Most women begin scheduling yearly gynecological check-ups at age 18 or once they become sexually active.

Next Steps
If your Pap smear is normal:
You will not need another Pap smear for one year unless symptoms arise. However, schedule a visit sooner if you experience concerns such as vaginal bleeding, discharge, irregular cycles, pelvic pain, bleeding after intercourse, or if you are planning a pregnancy.
If your Pap smear is abnormal:
We will arrange a colposcopy to examine your cervix under magnification. If any suspicious areas are found, a small tissue sample (biopsy) will be taken. Based on the results, your physician will discuss the appropriate treatment plan.
