Natural Cycle IVF
Natural Cycle IVF is a suitable option for women who do not respond well to fertility medications or have a low ovarian reserve. In such cases, the body typically produces only one natural egg per month, even with stimulation, making Natural Cycle IVF a gentle and effective alternative.
Request an appointmentNatural Cycle IVF is an ideal option for women who do not respond well to fertility medications or have a low ovarian reserve. In these cases, the body naturally produces only one egg per month, even with stimulation. In a Natural Cycle, this single egg is retrieved, fertilized with sperm through ICSI, and—if it develops into an embryo—transferred back into the uterus. No stimulation medications are used during this process, making it a gentler and more natural approach.
Cosmomed offers a full range of fertility treatments to support couples on their parenthood journey, including IVF-ICSI, Mini IVF, IUI, Gender Selection, Comprehensive Chromosomal Screening (CCS), PGT for hereditary diseases, male infertility treatments, and more.

What Are the Steps and Duration of a Natural Cycle IVF?
During a Natural Cycle IVF, the naturally selected egg your body produces each month is closely monitored through ultrasound scans and blood tests as it develops. Typically, no fertility medications are required—except for an hCG trigger injection, which is given to ensure the egg ovulates within the planned timeframe for Egg Retrieval. The full process usually takes 15 to 20 days and follows these key steps.
Ovarian Monitoring:
On Day 3 or 4 of the menstrual cycle, an initial assessment is done through ultrasound and blood tests. Over the next 6 to 9 days, the natural follicle is closely monitored as it grows and prepares to release an egg. About 36 to 40 hours before the planned Egg Retrieval (OPU), an hCG “trigger” injection is administered to ensure the egg matures and ovulates within the scheduled timeframe.
Egg Retrieval (OPU):
The mature egg is collected using a fine, ultrasound-guided needle during a short and gentle procedure performed under sedation.
Sperm Collection and ICSI:
On the day of Egg Retrieval, a semen sample is provided. To maximize fertilization chances, a single sperm is carefully injected into the egg using the ICSI technique. If fertilization occurs, the embryo will be prepared for transfer 3 to 5 days later.
Embryo Transfer (ET):
Embryo Transfer is a simple and painless procedure that does not require sedation. After the transfer, hormone levels are monitored through blood tests to confirm pregnancy.
Is It Possible To Complete a Natural Cycle With Genetic Testing?
Yes. If you wish to include Comprehensive Chromosomal Screening (CCS) — which can also provide gender information — or Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT) to prevent the transmission of hereditary diseases, you may undergo multiple Natural Cycles to freeze eggs and then perform CCS or PGT once on the resulting embryos.
If you are considering Genetic Testing alongside Natural Cycle IVF, you can connect with Cosmomed Fertility Center to discuss the most suitable treatment plan with your fertility specialist.
